Quiet Spaces in Farm Country

Silence is defined as the absence of mechanical sound.
Managed four days in Northumberland, Prince Edward and Hastings Counties.
Trip defined by three of the quietest spots in Ontario.

Greenbelt-are you sure?

Do we really need a yogurt vendor at every intersection?

Ironically, the Greenbelt is one of the most overdeveloped spaces in Ontario.
What was prime farmland is now bricks and mortar~Wal-Mart, Winners, and the like-inaccessible box stores.

The cross Mountain drive is now a stop/start nightmare of traffic lights and construction.

However, a short drive, walk, or bike ride further South brings a little peace of mind.
Try Trinity Church Road, Nebo Road or HWY 56.

There are a few holdouts left and you do have some sense of being in the "countryside".
